What kind of things can this help with?
Any situation where you would like to feel more confident, in control
of yourself and comfortable. Horse riding and other sports, any kind
of competition, exams, driving (especially the dreaded driving test!),
public speaking or presenting, acting or performing, as well as fears of
heights, insects etc – the list really is endless!
How well does it work?
For those people who are willing to be open to new ideas and to put
some of their own effort into themselves, this type of treatment usually
works extremely well. Most people can experience a worthwhile improvement
in how they feel in a very short time.
How many appointments will I need?
Of course, that depends on you and your circumstances. Most people
need between two and four one hour consultations to really move forward
on their own.
I’m phobic – will it help me?
“Phobic” is just a label – and not a particularly
helpful one. A deep fear of something, whether considered rational
or not, can be helped by these techniques. Everyone responds in their
own way and in their own time and most people are able to get their feelings
much more in perspective.
Do I have to believe in it?
Of course. You’ll be working with your mind here! You
need to be willing to try some rather unusual ways of looking at things
and you must want to put some energy into helping yourself. Practice
makes perfect, and you will be practising new ways of thinking and behaving.
